Job summary

SEG Solar, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and manage month-end and year-end closes. You will guide the accounting team and uphold strong financial controls.

The role partners with Sales leadership to analyze margins, forecast budgets, and prepare management reports. A minimum 10 years of accounting experience with leadership is required, preferably in manufacturing or a sales-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, technology or sales-driven environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and controls.
• Experience reviewing contracts, terms and payment milestones.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent cross-department communication and leadership abilities.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop accounting/finance staff.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales Director and regional teams as primary finance business partner.
• Conduct gross margin analysis by product, customer segment, and sales channel.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting for the sales division, including revenue targets and SG&A.
• Prepare monthly management and financial reports.
• Oversee sales commission and bonus calculations, approvals, and payouts.
• Lead month-end close, reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.
• Manage accounts receivable aging and credit limits to improve collections.
• Maintain internal controls related to sales orders and cash application.
• Forecast cash inflows based on payment and collection cycles.
• Collaborate with Sales to address payment delays and improve cash conversion.
• Oversee inventory valuation, costing and reconciliations.

About the Role

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing month-end and year-end close processes, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role also provides guidance and support to the accounting team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, distribution, technology, SaaS, FMCG, or other sales-driven environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial controls.
• Experience reviewing contracts, financial terms, and payment milestones.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
• High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records and strong financial controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, CMA, ACCA, or MBA.
• Proficiency in Mandarin.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting and standard costing.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, growing, or international organization is a plus.
