Job summary

Conduit Power, based in Houston, TX, seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the core accounting function, including month-end close, GL integrity, AP/AR, and ERCOT settlements oversight. You will supervise staff and partner with Finance on budgeting, analysis, and reporting as the company scales.

The role requires a CPA or progress toward, 7+ years of accounting experience with 3+ in supervision, and NetSuite proficiency; strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mid-tier ERP systems; NetSuite highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close calendar and coordinate tasks across the accounting team.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations; resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee fixed asset process, depreciation schedules, capitalization guidance.
• Assist in developing monthly financial statements for the company.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across responsibilities.
• Analyze financial results with variance analyses and P&L reviews.
• Manage external audits and act as liaison to auditors.
• Support annual budgeting with Finance; collaborate on plans.
• Develop NetSuite functionality to scale with growth.
• Maintain internal control policies and procedures; implement improvements.

Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager leads Conduit Power's core accounting function, with direct responsibility for month-end close, general ledger integrity, Accounts Payable, and account reconciliations. This role owns oversight of the ERCOT settlements process, supervises accounting staff, and partners closely with Finance on budgeting, analysis, and reporting as the company continues to scale.

General Ledger and Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Own and drive the month-end close calendar, coordinating tasks across the accounting team to ensure deadlines are met without sacrificing accuracy.
• Manage the general ledger, including preparing, reviewing and approving journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, proactively resolving discrepancies.
• Manage the fixed asset process, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules, and providing technical guidance on capitalization of assets to the accounting and external departments.
• Assist in the development and preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in all aspects of responsibility.
• Analyze financial results, including balance sheet and income statement trend fluctuations, actual vs budget variance analyses and Deal/Project P&Ls.
• Manage the company’s external audits. Key liaison to outside auditors in support of annual audits.
• Partners with Finance department in preparation of annual budgets.
• Assist with federal and state income tax compliance processes with outside provider.
• Develop company’s ERP system (Netsuite) functionality to scale with company’s needs and growth.
• Assist in developing and maintaining effective internal control policies and procedures.
• Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Manage the full cycle Accounts Payable function, invoice processing including three-way match, invoice routing and approval, vendor timely payments (ACHs/Wires).
• Manage vendor maintenance including creating, updating, maintaining and collecting vendor information (W9s, vendor bank information, other).
• Manages the annual 1099 reporting and compliance
  

ERCOT Settlements

• Manage day-to-day oversight of the ERCOT settlements process, reviewing settlement statements, reconciling settlement data, and investigating variances.
• Partner with Operations and Finance to ensure settlement activity is properly reflected in the general ledger, staying current on market rule changes that may affect accounting treatment.
  
• Supervise accounting staff, assigning and reviewing work, providing constructive feedback, and onboarding, training, and mentoring for technical growth.
• Conduct performance check-ins and reviews, and foster a collaborative, accountable team culture that scales with the company.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of total accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a supervisory or managing role managing the above areas.
• Required hands-on experience with mid-tier ERP systems. Experience with NetSuite highly preferred.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Office Suite.
• Experience managing fixed assets and large scale projects accounting.
• Experience with ERCOT settlements strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage effectively under a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday, with optional remote work on Friday.
