Job summary

Financial Additions is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller to lead a lean accounting team. You will own transactional accounting, reconciliations, and monthly close, working across operations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in debits and credits, WIP/POC is helpful but not required, and will partner with the CFO on budgeting and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day transactional accounting in a lean environment.
• Perform and oversee monthly bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Review journal entries and apply debits and credits correctly.
• Oversee AP, AR, billing, and expense reporting.
• Manage the close process and assist with monthly reporting.
• Support project financial analysis and job cost reporting.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen controls.
• Collaborate with CFO and leadership on budgeting.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller to join a lean, collaborative accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in debits and credits, transactional accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting who enjoys being involved in the details and working across the organization.

Construction experience is not required. Experience with WIP and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting is helpful, but the right candidate can learn the project-financial side of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day transactional accounting in a lean, hands-on environment
• Perform and oversee monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
• Review journal entries and ensure proper application of debits and credits
• Oversee AP, AR, billing, expense reporting, and cash activity
• Manage the accounting close process and assist with monthly financial reporting
• Provide oversight of AP and AR activities and ensure timely and accurate processing
• Work closely with project and operational teams on financial information
• Assist with WIP schedules and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting
• Support project financial reporting, job costs, and project-level financial analysis
• Maintain accurate financial data within QuickBooks / Intuit Enterprise
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency
• Serve as a hands-on resource for the accounting team and help ensure everyone is working together effectively
• Partner closely with the CFO/leadership team and take on increasing responsibility as the organization transitions leadership

BBA Accounting or Finance required or equivalent working experience
