Responsibilities
As the Accounting Manager / Assistant Treasurer, you will:
- Manage daily accounting operations in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with development and administration of the annual operating budget.
- Oversee fund accounting, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and cash management.
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Utility Billing staff.
- Coordinate annual audits and maintain audit-ready financial records.
- Process and oversee bi-weekly payroll and payroll reporting.
- Assist with employee benefits administration and retirement reporting.
- Prepare reports required by state and regulatory agencies.
- Support Human Resources administration and special projects.
- Attend evening board/council meetings as required and prepare meeting minutes.
- Recommend process improvements that strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with GASB is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using computerized accounting and financial management systems.
- Ability to obtain bonding as required for the position.

Compensation
Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
