Credit Union of Colorado is seeking an experienced Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations and the month-end close, ensuring GAAP compliance.
You will lead a team, oversee regulatory reporting, and partner with leaders to drive efficiency and financial integrity of the Credit Union and its foundation.
Pay Range: $116,400-$145,500

General Purpose of the Position
Responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, overseeing the month-end financial close process, establishing and maintaining internal controls, reviewing monthly reconciliations and compiling and analyzing data to be used in the accounting, regulatory reporting and financial reporting functions of the Credit Union. This role requires multi-functional collaboration with other business leaders to resolve issues, implement and lead organizational initiatives; establish policies and procedures; and implement process changes to ensure the Credit Union operates efficiently, remains financially sound and adheres to relevant regulatory and GAAP requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a minimum of seven years prior accounting experience with at least two years in a leadership position. Experience in the financial services industry is required; knowledge of the Jack Henry products (Symitar, ProfitStar) and Concur systems is desirable. CPA is required.
Technical knowledge of accounting and financial concepts, practices, procedures, and financial reports.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and proven strong skill base in Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills, a quick learner.
Understanding of related regulations, statutes, and filing requirements.
Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of the Symitar, ProfitStar, and Sage Fixed Assets, and Concur systems and other related computer applications.
Ability to apply oral, written and interpersonal skills that develop member, employee and volunteer confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of employees throughout the organization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISRATIONS
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
