  • Familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office for financial analysis, reporting, and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead US corporate and operational accounting for EPRI US including global fixed assets, capital, and cash movements.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely, accurate reporting and variance commentary.
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, reserves, accruals, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage internal controls over financial reporting and remediation of deficiencies.
  • Coordinate audits and walkthroughs with internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and governance requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and ERP optimization to increase efficiency and control.
  • Collaborate with HR, Procurement, Payroll, IT, Legal, and operations on financial matters and policy compliance.
  • Support FP&A and budgeting through accounting expertise and financial analysis.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team and promote a high-performing culture.

Job Summary and Description:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for EPRI's U.S. operations. This position oversees the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, internal controls, and accounting operations while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting policies and U.S. GAAP. The Accounting Manager partners with business leaders to support operational and financial objectives and reports to the Controller.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the corporate and operational accounting function for EPRI US, inclusive of global fixed assets, global capital, and cash movement.
  • Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual US close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, including preparation of variance commentary for income statement and balance sheet accounts.
  • Own balance sheet review processes, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations, reserves, accruals, and supporting documentation.
  • Execute and monitor internal controls over financial reporting and coordinate remediation of identified control deficiencies.
  • Manage process documentation, walkthroughs, and controls testing with internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial governance requirements.
  • Research and document complex accounting matters, new accounting pronouncements, and implementation of changes in US GAAP.
  • Drive accounting process improvements, automation initiatives, and ERP optimization efforts to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
  • Identify accounting and operational risks within assigned areas and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Partner with HR, Procurement, Payroll, IT, Legal, and operational leaders on financial matters, policy compliance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support FP&A and management in annual budgeting and forecasting processes through accounting expertise and financial analysis.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations, drive employee development, and ensure achievement of departmental objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement, effective communication, and operational excellence to support organizational priorities.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA desirable.
  • Require 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.

The salary range for this position is $135,000 USD to $145,000 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI's annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
