Job summary

AIMS Companies in Chandler, AZ is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead financial operations and strengthen our accounting infrastructure at the corporate office.

You will oversee daily operations, close processes, fixed assets, ASC 842 lease accounting, and sales/use tax compliance while mentoring staff and driving system improvements. This role reports to senior leadership and supports audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• CPA designation and Sage Intacct experience are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations, cash management, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Manage fixed assets and lead ASC 842 lease accounting evaluations.
• Oversee sales & use tax compliance and ensure GAAP/internal controls.
• Supervise weekly payroll reconciliations and corporate credit card program.
• Drive system enhancements, automation initiatives, and software improvements.
• Support annual audits and external tax processes.
• Provide clear guidance, mentorship, and support to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations: Oversee daily operations, cash management, financial reporting, and month-end close.

Approvals: Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.

Asset & Lease Management: Manage fixed asset functions and lead ASC 842 lease accounting evaluations.

Compliance & Tax: Oversee sales & use tax compliance and ensure strict adherence to GAAP and internal controls.

Payroll & Expenses: Supervise weekly payroll reconciliations and manage the corporate credit card program.

Technology & Innovation: Drive system enhancements, automation initiatives, and software improvements.

Audit Support: Serve as a key liaison for annual audits and external tax processes.

Leadership: Provide clear guidance, mentorship, and support to junior accounting staff. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.

Technical Skills: Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) and expertise in fixed assets, sales & use tax, and ASC 842.

Pre-employment: Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Pluses: CPA designation and experience with Sage Intacct or the construction/industrial services industry.
