Job summary

Confidential, a boutique investment firm, is seeking an Accounting Manager with a strong foundation in fund accounting to join a lean, high-performing team in Playa Vista, CA. You will work directly with senior leadership and have a front-row seat to the business with real room to grow.

Responsibilities include NAV calculations, fee processing, waterfall distributions, investor reporting, and close support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA a plus.
• Experience with fund accounting in investment firms, fund administrators, or similar environments.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with fund administration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own core fund accounting responsibilities including NAV calculations, fee processing, waterfall distributions, investor allocations, and financial statement preparation.
• Perform and review reconciliations across fund and entity-level accounts to support monthly and quarterly close.
• Assist in the preparation of investor reports and capital account statements for accuracy and consistency.
• Support external audits and tax processes, preparing workpapers and coordinating with advisors.
• Collaborate with leadership on day-to-day accounting matters and drive process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting tools to scale the accounting function.

A boutique investment firm is seeking an Accounting Manager with a strong fund accounting foundation to join a lean, high-performing team. This is a role for someone who is hungry, driven, and ready to roll up their sleeves at a firm that is building something new and exciting. You'll work directly with senior leadership, giving you a front-row seat to the business and real room to develop. This role is onsite daily in Playa Vista, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Fund Accounting & Reporting: Own core fund accounting responsibilities including NAV calculations, management fee processing, waterfall distributions, investor allocations, and financial statement preparation across a diverse portfolio of fund structures.
• Reconciliations & Close Support: Perform and review reconciliations across fund and entity-level accounts, supporting a timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close process.
• Investor & Partner Reporting: Assist in the preparation of investor reports, capital account statements, and other fund-related materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
• Audit & Tax Coordination: Support external audit and tax processes, preparing workpapers and documentation and serving as an organized and reliable point of contact for external advisors.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with leadership on day-to-day accounting matters, special projects, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
• Process & Systems Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting tools, bringing a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to building a more efficient and scalable accounting function.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 3-5+ years of fund accounting experience at an investment firm, fund administrator, management firm, and/or public accounting on the private services side.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or progress toward one a plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and investor reporting. Strong Excel skills and comfort navigating accounting and fund administration platforms.
