Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent with 4–10 years in manufacturing accounting.
  • CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and standard cost systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle R12, including Essbase/Hyperion.
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting and supervise A/R, A/P, and billing.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and maintain sub-ledgers.
  • Lead month-end close and generate financial statements and reports.
  • Coordinate with divisional and corporate accounting to ensure timely, accurate transactions.

Job Description
Summary
  • The Accounting Manager reports to the Company Controller.
  • The Accounting Manager position is responsible for managing the general accounting function.
  • Oversees the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements.
  • Supervision of A/R and A/P. Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for General Accounting function and the supervision and mentoring of A/R, Billing and A/P.
  • Responsible for maintaining accounting sub-ledgers and preparing monthly account reconciliations.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable/payable, revenue recognition/distribution, and fixed asset and depreciation, records.
  • Works with both divisional and corporate accounting department personal to ensure accounting transactions, JV's, and records are prepared timely and accurate in accordance with GAAP.
  • Supervises and participates in the month-end close process and preparation of various financial reports (structured and/or adhoc), financial statements, and corporate reporting packages.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and research discrepancies
  • Perform analytical reviews of financial reports and KPI's to identify trends and develop appropriate responses as required. Prepare analyses as appropriate (lease vs buy, financial justifications utilizing discounted cash flows, etc.) statements with management personnel.
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual financial and strategic plan, and in monthly P&L and working capital forecasts.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, procedures and work instructions relating to financial management, accounting, payroll and budgeting within a manufacturing environment
  • Ensures accounting procedures are documented and up to date.
  • Consult on the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting process flow
  • Implementing process and automation improvements to reduce reconciliation efforts.
  • Crosstrain with other positions within the department
  • Assist in planning and directing work and addressing problems/concerns as they arise.
  • Establishes system controls and adheres to SOX requirements, including compliance testing of key control areas.
  • Supports internal and external audits involving review of accounting records and internal controls, including SOX.
  • Coordinate's preparation of external audit schedules and internal financial reporting.
  • Provide support to internal customers as needs arise, including ad-hoc financial analysis, and special projects.
  • Assist in planning and directing work and addressing problems/concerns as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent with four to ten years related experience in a highly diverse manufacturing environment.
  • CPA, MBA preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and standard cost systems.
  • Minimum of four years supervisory role in a lean accounting department, preferable of A/R and A/P functions.
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP systems - Oracle R12 (or similar software), including Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management reporting systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, VLOOKUP, Macros, etc), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare well-constructed spreadsheets demonstrating a high degree of financial acumen and visual appeal
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment; participation on kaizens and value stream mapping exercises.
  • Experience with Lean Accounting methodologies
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and strong knowledge of GAAP.

Work Environment
