Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to support daily general accounting and project accounting activities across our Ohio and Michigan locations. The role reports to the Controller and focuses on accurate financial reporting and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities include forecasting, monthly close, variance analysis, asset accounting, and revenue recognition reviews. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 3–5 years in finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3–5 years in finance or accounting roles.
• Exposure to hands-on project accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with finance and accounting operations for the Ohio/Michigan locations.
• Support weekly financial forecasting and monthly reconciliations.
• Help review projects for proper revenue recognition in weekly forecasts.
• Assist with monthly close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support preparation of standard costing, labor rates, overhead allocations, prepayments, and accruals.
• Contribute to monthly variance analysis and reporting.
• Assist in preparing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports.
• Provide support for annual operating and capital budget preparation.
• Help ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and assist with quarterly testing.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Assist with annual physical inventory counts and reconciliation to general ledger balances.
• Provide support for job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Help maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules in FAS Sage.
• Assist with lease accounting in Costar.
• Support preparation and filing of Sales & Use tax returns.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
