• Approximately 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing account reconciliations and financial reports.

• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform bookkeeping functions including invoicing/AR and billing/AP activities.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger activity and ensure accounts are reconciled.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain accounting procedures and internal controls; identify process improvements.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve accounting issues.
• Create budgeting, forecasting, audits, and other accounting projects as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to team members.
• Oversee HR activities including bi-weekly payroll and onboarding.

Job description

A fast-growing, wholesale, international apparel and accessories company in Bellevue is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This is a hybrid position (1-2 days per week in the office) offering an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is ready to take greater ownership of accounting operations and contribute to the continued success of the organization.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. We welcome applications from experienced Accounting Managers as well as accomplished Senior Accountants who are ready to take the next step into a management role.

CPA certification is not required.

What You’ll Do

• Perform all bookkeeping functions including invoicing/AR and billing/AP activities
• Perform the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Perform general ledger activity and ensure accounts are accurate and properly reconciled.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain strong accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting and financial reporting issues.
• Create budgeting, forecasting, audits, and other accounting projects as needed.
• Provide guidance, review, and support to team members.
• Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Perform all HR activities including bi-weekly payroll (through payroll service), recruiting, on-boarding, and coordinating performance reviews.
• Administer/oversee company benefits such as medical and dental coverage, SIMPLE IRA, PTO scheduling, and others.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Approximately 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing account reconciliations and financial reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience mentoring, training, supervising, or reviewing the work of others is a plus.
• CPA is not required.
