Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience; 3+ years supervising staff.
• Education or government accounting background strongly preferred.
• Strong GAAP, GASB knowledge and internal controls.
• Experience with large, complex computerized financial systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Hands-on, collaborative leadership style.
• Ability to lead through change and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and regulations.
• Oversee internal controls and procedures.
• Coordinate annual audit activities and reporting.
• Develop and mentor accounting staff.
• Partner with IT on financial system upgrades.
• Provide guidance to departments on financial matters.
