Pattern Energy is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our San Francisco office, supporting day-to-day accounting, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. You will gain exposure to automation tools and data-driven workflows while developing traditional accounting skills.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, development of automated processes, and a summer project with findings and recommendations presented at the end of the internship.

Formación

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Coursework or practical experience demonstrating familiarity with fundamental accounting concepts.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working with financial data.
• Familiarity with workflow automation, data analytics, or process improvement.

Responsabilidades

• Support the Accounting team with day-to-day accounting activities, analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Review existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and strengthen data accuracy.
• Assist with the development, testing, and documentation of automated accounting workflows.
• Work with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, and AI-enabled productivity tools, as appropriate to assigned projects.
• Partner with Accounting and cross-functional stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and present findings, process improvements, and project outcomes to members of the Accounting team.
• Complete a meaningful summer project and present findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship

Internship Purpose

Pattern Energy is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join our San Francisco office. This internship will provide hands-on exposure to accounting operations while supporting initiatives focused on automating and improving accounting processes.

The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of accounting principles and an interest in applying automation, and data-driven tools to make accounting workflows more efficient, accurate, and scalable.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student who wants to develop traditional accounting skills while gaining experience with emerging technologies.

Internship Accountabilities

Education/Experience Required

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Coursework or practical experience demonstrating familiarity with fundamental accounting concepts.
• Strong proficiency or interest in Microsoft Excel, including working with financial or operational data.
• Familiarity with or strong interest in workflow automation, data analytics, or process improvement.
• Exposure to tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, Python, SQL are a plus but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solution skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The expected starting pay rate for this role is $28.00 - $30.00 USD/Hour. This range is an estimate and pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education.
