Job summary

Hendrick Motorsports is seeking an accounting intern in Charlotte, NC to work under the Controller’s direction. This part-time internship is expected to last 9–12 months and offers hands-on experience in accounting operations within a fast-paced sports business.

The intern will support month-end reconciliations, data entry, vendor and master data cleanup, and assist with audits and financial statements as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a 4-year program pursuing an Accounting, Finance, or related degree.
• Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Must be a sophomore or second-year student in the degree program.
• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must possess working knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet creation.
• Must possess the ability to self-direct and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal control procedures including audits for fixed assets, petty cash, packing slips and inventory cycle counts.
• Provide support for master data clean-up including vendor, customer and product records.
• Assist with preparation for external audits.
• Perform month end Balance Sheet and Income statement reconciliations.
• Perform ERP system testing.
• Assist in month end consolidation through data formatting and entry.
• Assist in creation of the month end financial statements.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables with back-up coverage as needed.
• Assist with various projects as assigned
