Job summary

POET Biofuels in Wichita, KS invites two Accounting Interns for the summer of 2027 to work on-site at our local office. You will generate invoices, process vendor invoices, reconcile payments, and support cash application while helping maintain financial statements.

The role offers collaboration with cross-functional teams and hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma and working toward a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Accounting or Finance, with GAAP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field with GPA reflective of work.
• Understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, and GAAP.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate invoices and ensure accuracy.
• Process purchase invoices for payment and load into accounting software.
• Reconcile invoices for month-end settlement and price contracts.
• Identify and resolve payment discrepancies with vendors or customers.
• Assist cash application in applying funds to AR invoices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing errors.
