The Indiana State Board of Accounts (SBOA) is seeking an Accounting Intern to support audit teams. You will apply professional accounting and auditing knowledge under the direction of an experienced examiner to assist in planning and conducting routine or special audits of local government units.

This seasonal, on-site internship in Delaware County offers a starting hourly rate of $20, with opportunity for commensurate pay based on education and experience.

Role Overview

As the Accounting Intern at SBOA, you will apply professional accounting and auditing knowledge and techniques under the direction of an experienced Field Examiner or Field Supervisor to assist in planning and conducting routine or special audits of local agencies governmental units. You will verify compliance with State, federal, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations in terms of consistency and adherence to accepted accounting principles and management practices. You will report to advanced level Field Examiner or Field Supervisor.

Location

This position is with Delaware County, and surrounding areas. Interns work onsite at engagement locations with an audit team.

Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $20.00 per hour but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
