Job summary

Key Cooperative in Iowa is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Credit, Accounting, and Payroll team. The role involves processing accounts payable, reconciling ledgers, documenting procedures, assisting with month-end close, and supporting treasury tasks such as bank transfers and ACH processing.

You will help with tax reporting, data cleanup, and provide backup coverage. A high school diploma and progress toward an ag business or accounting degree are required, along with a valid Class

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing, coding, and entry of accounts payable transactions.
• Tie supporting documentation to ledger accounts; investigate variances and propose solutions.
• Document accounting procedures; update current documents.
• Assist with various month end close duties.
• Assist with daily treasury functions including bank transfers, wire and ACH processing, and deposits.
• Assist with tax and other governmental reporting and filing including sales and use tax, motor fuel tax, and checkoffs.
• Provide backup when others are out of the office.
• Work with location managers to review fixed asset lists.
• Data cleanup and collection; help clean up data in the system.

Duties

• Accounts Payable- assist in processing, coding, and entry of various accounts payable transactions
• Account Reconciliation- Tie supporting documentation to ledger accounts each month.Investigate variances and propose solutions for out of balance accounts while working with members of the team
• Documentation- work on documenting accounting procedures and processes, update current documents
• Month End- assist with various month end close duties
• Treasury Functions- assist with daily treasury functions as needed including bank transfers, daily wire and ACH processing, bank deposits, and transfers
• Tax- Assist with tax and other governmental reporting and filing including sales and use tax, motor fuel tax, and checkoffs
• Provide backup when others are out of the office
• Fixed Asset Review-work with location managers to review fixed asset lists
• Data clean up and collection-work on cleaning up data in system

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma and working towards an ag business, accounting, or other related business degree.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
