Overview

METI is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Accounting Generalist to support our Accounting Department through accurate and timely accounting work. This role is primarily responsible for preparing and reviewing accounting entries, managing general ledger transactions, conducting account reconciliations, and verifying travel expenses and disbursements for compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Duties
  • Prepare, record, and review accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Process and verify general ledger entries, maintaining appropriate classifications and documentation.
  • Conduct timely and accurate account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Review and validate employee travel reports and expense disbursements for accuracy, policy adherence, and proper documentation.
  • Maintain organized financial records and support documentation for audits and internal reviews.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial workflows.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of general accounting principles, such as payroll, A/P, and A/R processes.
  • Must have experience with general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
