Job summary

Grimco in Sunset Hills, MO is seeking a rising junior or senior to join its Accounting & Finance internship. You will work closely with three controllers and a staff accountant, gaining hands-on experience in both accounting and finance functions.

You will assist with FP&A software, midyear reforecasting, lease analysis, monthly close, and financial reporting such as the Daily Executive Dashboard and Weekly Cash Report.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with branch financials, MPD financials, monthly close activities, Concur reporting, and regulatory reporting.

• Research and analyze the use of AI in financial analysis and the application of accounting standards.

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Grimco is seeking a rising junior or senior to join our Accounting & Finance team at our Sunset Hills, Missouri location. This internship spans both accounting and finance functions, offering hands‑on involvement in projects and recurring financial activities throughout the term. You will work closely with three controllers and a staff accountant, with frequent exposure to company officers and directors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Assist the Controller with development and implementation work related to FP&A software.

Support midyear reforecasting and complete lease analysis and lease management activities.

Prepare and support recurring financial reporting, including the Daily Executive Dashboard and Weekly Cash Report.

Assist with branch financials, MPD financials, monthly close activities, Concur reporting, and regulatory reporting.

Support financial analysis, including price-volume-mix (PVM) analysis as data availability and Snowflake progress allow.

Research and analyze the use of AI in financial analysis and the application of accounting standards.

Qualifications

Currently a rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.

Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with financial data and recurring deadlines.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with accounting, finance, and business leaders.

Comfortable with, or eager to learn, Excel and other financial analysis tools; interest in AI applications in finance and accounting is a plus.

Additional Information

Hands-on experience across both accounting and finance functions, with exposure to real business reporting, analysis, and close activities.

Direct mentorship and day-to-day learning alongside three controllers and a staff accountant.

Exposure to company officers and directors and a practical view of how financial information supports business decisions.

Experience with financial analysis, cash flow operations, accounting standards, lease analysis, FP&A tools, and the use of AI in a professional finance setting.
