Job summary

Qualifications

• Pursuing a business-related 4-year bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Junior-level college student majoring in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics or similar.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Strong technical acumen and desire for a career in Accounting/Finance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems individually or in teams.
• Proactive self-starter with initiative and ownership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Maximizes relationships and fosters collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience with transportation-specific accounting topics (ASC 842, lease accounting, vehicle maintenance, insurance).
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Support month-end closing processes and financial reporting.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide accounting initiatives and projects.
• Develop understanding of account/P&L structures and reporting.
• Use Spreadsheet Server for financial analysis and reporting.
• Assist with McLeod (CRST ERP) deployment and operations.
• Participate in status meetings and team discussions.
• Present project outcomes to senior leadership at program end.
• Maintain regular attendance and support team needs.

CRST has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Talent Program within our summer internship program as a Accounting / Finance Intern. CRST's Accounting / Finance summer internship program isa great opportunityfor first-hand experience in yourAccounting / Financefield of interest. Youwill work on one or more projects that create value for our key internal and external stakeholders. You will have the chance to apply practical applications of accounting classroom concepts.

Here is what you can expect:

Accounting & Finance:

• Transportation-Specific Accounting Concepts - Gain hands-on experience with transportation-specific accounting topics, including ASC 842 lease implementation, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and more
• Accounts Receivable and Payable - Assist with transactional accounting for accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Month-End Closing Support - Contribute to the month-end closing process and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Accounting Projects - Support various enterprise-wide accounting initiatives and projects
• Account/P&L Structure - Develop a basic understanding of account structures and profit and loss (P&L) reporting
• Spreadsheet Server - Gain experience using the Spreadsheet Server for financial analysis and reporting
• Support McLeod (CRST ERP) - Assist with McLeod (CRST ERP), including system deployment and general operations
• Participate in Meetings - Actively participate in status meetings and stand-up sessions, contributing to team discussions
• Senior Leadership Exposure - Learn from our Senior Leaders from day 1 and present your project and experience to them at the end of the summer.
• Accountability & Reliability – Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs

The Summer Internship Program is where students are exposed to the transportation industry, engaged in real-world problem-solving, and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns and leaders across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with different business entities to accomplish company objectives and goals.

Here is what we are looking for:

• Pursuing a business-related 4-year bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Junior-level college student with a major inAccounting, Finance, Data Analytics or similar

• Relevant work experience / internships / related activities (tutor, business fraternity, etc.)preferred but not required

• Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate courses at least the fall semester following the summer internship.
• Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within CRST upon graduation with additional benefits.
• These internships will be based at our offices in Cedar Rapids, IA.
