As an Accounting Expert within PNC's Regulatory Reporting organization, housed within the Office of the Corporate Controller, you can be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH.

This senior role on the FDIC 370 Finance team is responsible for driving compliance with the Part 370 regulation. The individual will focus on rule interpretation, assisting with business requirements, and working with the lines of business to drive enhancements and remediation efforts. This team member will lead process changes throughout the data lifecycle used in preparing the insurance calculation. A strong understanding of data lineage, data transformation, and the Part 370 regulation is necessary for success.

This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field regularly. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely at the manager’s discretion.

Key Candidate Qualities, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting and conveying business requirements.
  • Basic understanding of data querying and SQL is a plus.
  • Experience with Bank Regulatory Reporting; Axiom experience is ideal.
  • Self-starter with initiative to lead regulation-based initiatives from start to finish with minimal guidance.
  • Accounting/Finance/Reporting experience or education is preferred.
  • Familiarity with banking products and balance sheets.
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead others collaboratively.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead specialized accounting, reporting, and analytical expertise supporting centralized functions or business units. Serve as a senior team expert.
  • Review and analyze complex transactions, research relevant accounting, reporting, and regulatory guidance, and communicate implications to senior management.
  • Participate in projects, prepare accounting memoranda, and present on new accounting pronouncements and their impact, including reviews with senior management and the Board.
  • Provide accounting expertise, including internal control processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, supporting Finance and business partners.
  • Support and train staff on generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate relevant knowledge, skills, and experience, including:

  • Skills: Balance Sheets, Decision Making, Finance, Financial Reporting and Analysis, GAAP, Management Reporting, Tax Analysis.
  • Competencies: Accounting, Attention to Detail, Effective Communication, Financial and Accounting Systems, Internal Controls, Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.
  • Work Experience: Typically 5+ years of relevant experience; a degree is preferred, but equivalent experience/certifications may suffice.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
