Job summary

Resilient Risk, LLC is seeking an Accounting Data Analytics Intern to support the accounting team in Syracuse, NY. The role focuses on turning data into actionable insights to guide leadership decisions.

You'll build and maintain analytic solutions, dashboards in Power BI, and assist in forecasting, budgeting, and process automation. The position is office-based, with fall-semester hours posted, and requires strong data analysis and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, CS, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI and ability to create clear visualizations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, and SQL.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy.
• Successful clearance of drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Process Improvement: Assist with building and maintenance of queries, reports, dashboards, and models.
• Dive into data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and evaluate automated processes and workflows; suggest, design, and implement improvements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, or inefficiencies.
• Use statistical techniques to support forecasting and budgeting.
• Support implementation of automation scripts or workflow improvements.
• Reporting and Analysis: Provide input toward dashboards and reports in Power BI that support accounting processes.
• Assist in visualizing KPIs, variances, and metrics for management review.
• Data Collection and Cleaning: Gather financial data from internal and external sources.
• Clean and organize datasets for analysis.

This position is 100% in-office and reports to our facility on site in Syracuse, NY.

Job Summary

As an Accounting Data Analytics Intern, you will support the accounting team, building models to assist in solving complex business challenges and transforming data into actionable insights to support leadership decisions.

Salary Range

$22.50 per hour

Hours: Fall Semester

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Data Analysis and Process Improvement:
  • Assist with building and maintenance of various analytic solutions such as queries, reports, dashboards, and models.
  • Dive into data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the development and evaluation of automated processes and workflows; suggest, design, and implement improvements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, or inefficiencies.
  • Use statistical techniques to assist with forecasting and budgeting support.
  • Support implementation of automation scripts or workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in post-secondary collegiate school, preferably pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with an emphasis on data analysis.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI with knack for creating clear and compelling visualizations.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, and SQL.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to validating data accuracy.
• Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements
