Job summary

gpac in Houston seeks a Financial Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for construction and fabrication projects. You will drive budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and WIP analysis while partnering with executives on strategic planning.

The role requires deep experience in project-based accounting, strong leadership, and proficiency with ERP systems to ensure accurate, timely financial statements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in construction or steel fabrication.
• Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Viewpoint Vista, Foundations, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
• Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting for fabrication projects.
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements.
• Implement and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting systems.
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and banking partners.

With a strong backlog and continued growth, we are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and help drive strategic financial decisions.

Position Overview

The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will play a key role in supporting leadership with financial insights while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across project-based accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $125,000 - $180,000


• Performance-based bonus
