Job description

Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our organization in Wichita, KS. This role will lead the Consolidations and Financial Reporting team, oversee the monthly financial consolidation and close process, and ensure timely, accurate reporting deliverables for internal management and parent company leadership.

As an Accounting Manager, you will lead a team responsible for consolidating monthly financial results, coordinating close activities, supporting management reporting, and communicating financial results to key stakeholders. You will partner across business, operations, finance, and parent company teams to drive reliable reporting, strengthen processes, and deliver insights that create value for the business. A successful candidate will embrace a contribution mindset, encourage and promote transformation, build strong relationships, and demonstrate strong analytical, economic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals responsible for consolidations, close coordination, and financial reporting.
  • Foster a culture of contribution, accountability, continuous improvement, and personal growth while selecting and developing talent aligned with our values.
  • Oversee the monthly financial consolidation process, including close timelines, consolidation activities, intercompany considerations, reporting packages, and review of financial results.
  • Drive discipline, accuracy, and clarity throughout the close cycle.
  • Manage recurring reporting deliverables for internal management and parent company management, ensuring information is complete, accurate, timely, and aligned with applicable standards.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for questions related to consolidated results and reporting submissions.
  • Build strong partnerships with operations, finance, and business teams to understand drivers of results, resolve close and reporting matters, and provide analysis that supports management decision-making.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance an effective financial control environment while identifying opportunities to improve close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Leverage technology, data, and analytical tools to increase efficiency, transparency, and scalability.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Strong leadership capability with experience leading, coaching, developing, and motivating accounting professionals while building an accountable and collaborative team culture.
  • Progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or managing financial reporting deliverables for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial results.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven monthly close and reporting environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge current processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerApps.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including spreadsheet creation and editing, pivot tables, data manipulation and analysis, and formula creation.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in consolidations, financial reporting, corporate accounting, or accounting analysis roles.
  • Experience using OneStream, Power BI, Alteryx, or other data analytic and visualization tools.
  • Experience with accounting consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, consolidating international entities, and foreign currency considerations.
  • Experience managing close calendars, reporting packages, executive-level financial deliverables, or parent company submissions.
  • Experience in process innovation/transformation/implementation.
