CFS in Galveston, TX seeks an Accounting & Compliance Manager to lead the accounting and compliance functions for HUD-funded housing and disaster recovery projects. You will oversee budgets, financial reporting, and performance while driving strong internal controls.

The role blends hands-on accounting with staff leadership and collaboration with executive leadership to improve processes and ensure regulatory compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting, project accounting, or compliance experience.
• Experience with HUD, Section 3, MWBE, CDBG-DR, FEMA, or similar programs preferred.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong financial reporting and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, reporting, budgets, and project financial performance.
• Manage Section 3, MWBE, and HUD compliance reporting.
• Review compliance documentation, payroll records, and vendor requirements.
• Prepare financial and compliance reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Supervise accounting, compliance, and administrative staff.
