Job summary

Vermont Public is seeking a motivated undergraduate Accounting/Finance/Business Administration student to join the Finance and Accounting team as a Co‑op through the Saint Michael's College Co‑op Program. The role offers hands‑on experience in general ledger, month‑end close, AP, and reconciliations, with an emphasis on lease management system implementation.

The student will contribute around 20 hours per week, support journal entries, data gathering, and testing activities while collaborating

Qualifications

• Current junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Coursework in Financial Accounting and/or Managerial Accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work with confidential financial information professionally.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Interest in accounting systems, financial technology, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day accounting activities, financial recordkeeping, and special projects.
• Assist with month‑end close processes, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
• Assist with lease management system implementation data gathering and migration.
• Record and post journal entries under supervision.
• Collaborate with accounting/finance team and external partners as needed.
