The Accounting Clerk responsibilities include working closely with internal and external stakeholders to perform complex accounting assignments, track project-related costs, and assist in preparing financial records. This position requires work in a dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform various accounting and administrative tasks for multiple companies and projects.
  • Support clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping functions.
  • Assist with data entry in AR and AP, and update spreadsheets per project.
  • Handle IDIQ project billing and communicate/report with subcontractors.
  • Follow up with subcontractors on timesheet and submission errors, communicate corrections, and manage documentation.
  • Report process challenges in rebuild and I-supplier to maintain efficiency; assign tasks in Asana to improve workflow.
  • Provide monthly financial analysis reports related to IDIQ billing and cash flow trends.
  • Upload blanket releases in E-comply weekly.
  • Prepare monthly compliance reports after month-end closings.
  • Research, compile, and summarize information for reports or presentations.
  • Contribute to monthly project cost analysis reports.
  • Cross-train with other team functions to provide backup support.
  • Maintain physical and digital filing systems.
  • Respond promptly to accounting and clerical inquiries.
  • Handle office administration tasks, including meeting setup and email communication.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather project-related information.
  • Handle sensitive information discreetly, maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of CMIC and/or construction accounting preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of project accounting experience, especially in billing and invoicing within construction.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and project accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting for government-funded projects.
Physical Demands:
  • Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity required.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing, repetitive motions.
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds, bending, and carrying.
