Bowhead seeks an Accounting Clerk for surge support in the Uniform Business Office (UBO) at the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for executing and managing financial transactions related to patient care services within the UBO. Responsibilities include monitoring revenue cycles, collaborating with healthcare providers and staff, ensuring compliance with insurance policies, and implementing strategies to optimize financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Execute financial transactions related to patient care services.
• Monitor the revenue cycle to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to resolve financial issues and discrepancies.
• Maintain current knowledge of insurance policies to ensure accurate transactions.
• Implement strategies to minimize revenue loss and maximize financial performance.
• Stay updated on healthcare regulations affecting revenue management.
• Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track KPIs and financial metrics.
• Guide staff on revenue-related processes and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years’ experience in hospital accounting.
• Experience in government or hospital accounting preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with confidentiality.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, provide proof of TDAP and Influenza vaccinations, and update as required.

Physical Demands
