Job summary

Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk focused on client billing and invoicing. You will prepare, review, process, and collect on client billings while supporting other accounting functions with confidentiality and accuracy.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree in accounting and proven experience in similar roles, with strong Excel/Word/Outlook skills and familiarity with accounting principles. Downtown parking is available where applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting required or preferred.
• Experience in accounting roles with attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of ProLaw a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support in general accounting: AP, AR, billing and processing.
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Process vendor invoices; verify accuracy and timeliness.
• Generate and send billing notices; monitor outstanding payments.
• Enter data into accounting software accurately; reconcile statements.
• Maintain documentation and filing; deposit daily cash.

About the Role

Lippes Mathis is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk with a strong focus on client billing and invoicing. This role is responsible for the accurate preparation, review, processing, and collection of client billings while also providing support for other accounting functions. Attention to detail, accuracy, analytical ability, and confidentiality are essential to success in this position.

What You'll Do

• Provide support in various aspects of general accounting, including AP, AR, and billing
• Assist in ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Generate and send customer billing notices.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
• Assist in the preparation and review of client billings
• Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets accurately.
• Reconcile credit card statements.
• Monitor and categorize business expenses.
• Assist in processing employee expense reports.
• Maintain documentation and filing.
• Deposit daily cash
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Associate’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• Proven experience as an accounting specialist or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with ProLaw a plus but not required.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial records.
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Customer service orientation when dealing with internal clients and vendors.
• A positive attitude in all aspects of the role, taking personal responsibility and ownership and always behaving professionally.
• Ability to complete projects with little direction.
• Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information.

Compensation

Salary range: $26-$29/hour. This is a good-faith estimate for the position based on location and minimum criteria. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
