Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk supports the accounting department with day-to-day financial tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Process accounts payable, ensuring invoices are matched to purchase orders or approvals and coded to appropriate job and cost codes.
• Assist with vendor setup, check runs, and COI tracking.
• Assist with month-end closing processes and financial reporting
• Maintain job cost records and support project managers with budget tracking
• Support audits by providing documentation and reports as requested
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve billing issues
• Perform other accounting and administrative tasks assigned

Education & Additional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with construction accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).
• Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
