Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Arthur, IL is seeking an Accounting Clerk to manage receivable and payable duties and support general office tasks. You will also act as an auditor to ensure invoices are accurate and proper procedures are followed.

Daily invoicing, payments processing, and balance reconciliation are core responsibilities. Starting wage ranges from $23.51 to $30.01 per hour plus a ROA bonus; Nucor offers comprehensive benefits including health, 401K, profit sharing and education support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Associate degree or equivalent years of experience in Accounting (AP/AR), Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Daily invoicing and balancing.
• Process and apply customer payments.
• Process and apply credits.
• Record and balance daily invoicing, cash, checks and card payments.
• Resolve payment discrepancies.
• Answer phones and assist customers.
• Maintain secure handling of sensitive records.
• Enter accounts payable invoices
• Organize accounts payable checks
• Additional duties may be added as needed.

This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed. General Responsibilities:

• Daily invoicing and balancing
• Processes and applies customer payments
• Processes and applies credits
• Collects, records, and balances daily invoicing, cash, credit card, and check payments
• Researches and solves payment discrepancies
• Answering telephones and providing customer assistance
• Maintain proper handling and filing of sensitive material and records through the observation of operation's internal controls
• Enter accounts payable invoices
• Organize accounts payable check runs
• Additional duties may be added based on need and ability

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Associate degree or equivalent years of experience in Accounting (Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable), Finance, Business Administration, or other discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of previous experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or customer service
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, etc.) and 10-Key
