• Generate and verify reports from audit systems and ensure authenticity and accuracy.
• Audit tax forms related to gambling winnings (W2G, 1042-S, 1099-MISC) for tax filings accuracy.
• Create and update Excel spreadsheets and reconcile balances to reports.
• Review audit results, investigate deviations, and report findings to management.
• Prepare exception reports for violations noted during audits and forward to appropriate departments.
• Communicate professionally with department leadership to assist with audit questions and documentation gathering.
• Adhere to all company and department policies; file and organize accounting documents; assist with other duties as directed by management.

Performs first line review of all transactions posted to the general ledger in relation to all gaming and non gaming revenue audits. Training ongoing to prepare for Accounting Auditor II position.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
• Ensure adherence to all confidentiality requirements regarding all information, verbal or documented, to which the auditor has been provided directly or indirectly.
• Ensure integrity in all aspects of the audit process and perform assignments in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times.
• Perform as a team player in a team-oriented environment to ensure accurate and timely completion of all audits.
• Ensure that all revenues/expenses are supported by properly authorized documentation, recorded to the proper account and review account balances in the ERP system at predetermined frequencies.
• Generate reports from various systems of records depending on what audit is being conducted. Review and verify all reports, documentation and other supporting information for completeness, authenticity, authorization, and accuracy.
• Audit tax forms in relation to gambling winnings (W2G, 1042-S and 1099-MISC) and ensure accuracy in tax system for tax filings.
• Create, edit and update excel spreadsheets, and verify balances to reports.
• Review audit results/spreadsheets for reasonability and investigate any unexpected or unreasonable deviations; investigate any discrepancies or cash variances exceeding predetermined thresholds and report results to management.
• Prepare exception reports in electronic system for violations noted during audits to send to appropriate departments.
• Communicate professionally via email, phone or any other communication type necessary to all department leadership teams to assist in audit related questions or gathering audit documentation.
• Adheres to all company and department policies and procedures.
• Scan, file and log accounting documents. Compile documents for proper storage and perform other general office and accounting projects and duties as directed by management.
