Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking an Accounting Associate I to join our team in Indiana. The role will perform accounting functions, research and process various transactions to support daily operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; banking experience is a plus. Associate degrees in accounting/finance are advantageous. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of three years accounting, bookkeeping or related experience.
Prior banking experience is a plus.
Associate's degree in accounting, finance or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare reconciliations for loan and deposit system accounts, Federal Reserve Bank, correspondent accounts, and various other accounts as assigned.
Prepare reconciliation dashboard reporting to Operations and other departments.
Assist the Accounting team as needed with daily, weekly or monthly duties.
Provide support to management on assigned projects.
Verify daily Bank Control Record (BCR) reports to supporting documents to ensure changes were authorized and correctly entered.
