Job summary

Alderman’s Chevrolet Buick GMC in Rutland, VT is seeking an entry-level Accounting Associate to support daily financial operations and help the team grow within our dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field (or currently pursuing).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Ability to learn dealership management software (Dealertrack and Tekion).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Process and record daily transactions including vehicle sales, parts, and service receipts.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records.
• Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support inventory tracking and reporting for vehicles and parts.
• Help with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial files and documentation.
• Work closely with the sales and service departments to ensure accurate reporting.
• Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
