Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all assigned accounting records and perform related accounting functions.
  • Coordinate month-end activities with other departments.
  • Prepare monthly GL reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Respond to inquiries from management, auditors and financial statements.
  • Support requirements for new product deployments and process improvements.
  • Weekly recording and reconciliation of cash receipts.
  • Review capital expenditure entries for proper criteria.
  • Calculate depreciation and maintain fixed assets sub-ledger.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including capex, pre-paids and accruals.
  • Assist with internal reporting and audit requests.

Job Description: General Function / Summary: The Accounting Associate is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records, review, monitor, reconcile and report on all accounts for the department. This role will play an active role in the month end closing duties and partner closely with operations, accounting departments, IT, and various other liaisons to understand and find resolution for accurate financials.

Essential Duties:
  • Accurately maintain all assigned accounting records and perform all related accounting functions.
  • Ensure that all accounting entries and reports are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Coordinate month-end accounting activities with other departments.
  • Prepare monthly GL reconciliation and monthly journal entries.
  • Respond to inquiries from management, auditors and financial statements issued.
  • Support the accounting requirements for new product deployments and process enhancements.
  • Weekly recording and reconciling of Cash receipts.
  • Review Transaction detail to ensure capital expenditures entries meet established criteria.
  • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
  • Maintain fixed assets sub-ledger and depreciation schedules.
  • Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management and auditors.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including Capex related, pre-Paid and accruals.
  • Determine adjustments required and prepare journal entries for related account activity.
  • Update and maintain procedures related to assigned tasks.
  • Complete reporting needed from internal business partners.
  • Perform audit requests.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience required 1+ years accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong problem solving, collaboration, time management and organization skills.
  • Detail-oriented team player with ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
  • SQL querying a plus.
  • Ability to identify problems and look for continuous process improvements and achieve resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
