Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client in North Carolina seeks an Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting tasks and maintain accurate records. You will verify and enter vendor invoices, manage documentation, and assist with reconciliations while supporting licensing renewals and expense processing.

Ideal candidates have prior accounting or finance exposure, strong organization, detail orientation, and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing issues.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, verify proper approval and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system, reconcile vendor statements, and monitor for duplicate and fraudulent invoices.
  • Onboard new vendors, obtain W9s, and verify banking instructions.
  • Record and organize documentation for all credit card transactions.
  • Monitor the departmental email inbox; make decisions and take appropriate action.
  • Prepare applications and renewals for professional licenses and ensure timely payment is made.
  • Enter expense reimbursements into the accounting system.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for trust accounts.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries.

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their dynamic team in North Carolina. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring efficient financial operations.

Responsibilities

Required Work Hours

The Accounting Assistant position requires a commitment to full-time hours from Monday to Friday.

Additional Details

Salary Range: $27 - $30 per hour
