Job summary

Hut 8 in Miami, FL, seeks a Principal Accounting Analyst to join the finance team. You will drive accuracy of financial data, prepare reconciliations, and draft memos and statements under US GAAP.

The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, publicly traded company environment. You will assist with Form 10-K and 10-Q filings, month-end closes, internal reporting, and external audits, while building financial controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting, audit, or external reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel and NetSuite proficiency.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial principles.
• Experience reviewing or drafting Form 10-K and 10-Q filings.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling is a plus.
• Experience working with publicly traded companies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing Form 10-K and 10-Q filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
• Assist in preparing internal reports and analyses.
• Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
• Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
• Draft technical memos under USGAAP
• Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Stay updated with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support external audits and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Additional duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Analyst, Principal to join our finance team. The Accounting Analyst, Principal will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, preparing account reconciliations, drafting technical memos and financial statements preparation. ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification is highly preferred
• Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting, audit and/or external reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., NetSuite).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial principles.
• Experience with reviewing and/or drafting Form 10-K and 10-Q filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
