Job Responsibility:

Job Summary: The Accounting Analyst assists in providing excellent accounting service, handling a wide range of duties from administrative tasks to accounting analysis.

Position Expectations and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors program budgets daily, projects trends, and communicates with program staff to ensure budget line items are not overspent.
  • Prepares monthly budget to actual financial statements and maintains daily financial reports.
  • Analyzes general ledger accounts, recommends budget amendments, and assists with year-end budget variance reports.
  • Tracks and reconciles federal funds, prepares forecast spreadsheets, and attends monthly Policy Council meetings to present financial statements.
  • Prepares federal reports, including quarterly SF-425 Cash Transaction Reports and Annual Reports.
  • Works with program directors to prepare annual Refunding Applications and contract/grant proposals.
  • Prepares budgets, financial reports, and administrative journal entries for assigned programs.
  • Assists in preparing the Cost Allocation Plan and conducts audits as instructed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an accounting role, with budget maintenance experience a plus.
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial databases software.
