Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an accounting professional to support the month-end close, analyze financial and operational data, and communicate results to management. The role requires strong accounting knowledge and system proficiency.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, and process improvements, with flexibility for non-standard schedules in a 24/7 operation. A mix of degrees and several years of accounting experience are valued at this site.

Qualifications

• HS diploma and six years of accounting experience.
• Associate degree in Accounting with four years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with two years of accounting experience.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or related area.

Responsibilities

• Complete duties in the accounting close process, including journal entries and coordination with site finance groups.
• Analyze financial and operational data and communicate results to management and site finance personnel.
• Perform reconciliation and analysis through system queries and investigation of reconciling items.
• Review processes for improvements to month-end close and implement practical efficiencies.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
• Work in a 24/7 operation as required.
