Job summary

The Associate Accounting Analyst at C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC assists in accounting, planning, reporting, and analysis of assigned business activity. This role performs GAAP‑compliant accounting and controls and provides budget development support for partners.

Responsibilities include preparing recurring analyses with variance explanations, reviewing P&L for accuracy, posting journal entries, assisting with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, validating monthly balances, and delivering

Qualifications

General understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with financial systems.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships.
Analytical skills and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

Prepare recurring analyses and explain variances for finance partners.
Review assigned P&L statements for reasonableness and accuracy; research abnormal variances.
Prepare, review and process journal entries to reflect financial activity.
Assist in annual budgets and quarterly forecasts with data trending.
Review and validate monthly balances for GAAP compliance.
Prepare balance composition and variance analyses for management.
Prepare special financial reports for business group or Finance management.
Propose adjusting journal entries.
Review expense invoices for accuracy and proper approvals.
Validate internal financial reporting for consistency with GAAP; maintain procedures.
Coordinate information for third-party audits.
