Job summary

Jobtailor in Tempe, AZ is seeking an entry to mid-level accounting professional to support financial reporting, reconcile GL accounts, and prepare CIP files for asset capitalization.

You will audit transactions, assist with asset setup, and ensure SOX compliance while coordinating with other departments. Requires 1–2 years of accounting experience and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access.

Qualifications

Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
One to two years of accounting experience preferred.
Computer literacy in MS Excel and Access.
Ability to organize and prioritize detailed information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required to effectively work with other departments.
Experience with POPA, PDI and/or FAS software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Review completed projects in POPA for accuracy and prepare CIP (Construction in Progress) files for loading into the Fixed Asset system
Reconcile GL accounts
Ensure store asset audits are performed every five years
Prepare project entries to ensure correct recording of invoices
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Document financial transactions by entering account information and auditing supporting documents when needed
Maintain financial security by ensuring internal and SOX controls are followed
Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations
Ensure compliance with requirements, policies, and regulations by enforcing corporate controls and policies
Assist with asset setup
Perform other assigned duties as needed
