Job summary

BPM is seeking an Accounting Advisory Associate II to partner with a diverse portfolio of growth-oriented clients. You will support month-end close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, assist with financial statements, and contribute to process improvements and system implementations.

You will work with engagement teams on private company projects, collaborate with senior consultants on ERP needs, and participate in special client projects to drive learning and growth.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
  • A desire to pursue your CPA.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in public accounting and/or industry as part of an accounting function.
  • Experience with data conversions, interfaces/integrations, reporting and customization within various ERP systems.
  • Experience using QuickBooks, Intacct, NetSuite and/or other accounting platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Bill.com, Expensify, and/or Concur is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with multiple clients and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to synthesize all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
  • Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting services for clients including assisting in month-end close (A/P, A/R, journal entries, reconciliations) and assisting in financial statements.
  • Work on engagement teams and support managers on small to mid-size private company management and compilation reports.
  • Participate in multiple engagements and interact with client personnel throughout the implementation.
  • Partner with senior consultants to assess client ERP implementation needs and implement innovative solutions.
  • Be a contributing member of the team, analyze information, and provide recommendations.
  • Participate in special projects for clients to enable growth and learning.

In this role you will support month-end and year-end close activities, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, assist with financial statement preparation, and help clients navigate day-to-day accounting matters. You'll also contribute to special projects involving accounting process improvements, system implementations, financial reporting optimization, and outsourced accounting engagements.

Note: This position is onsite for candidates located in Sioux Falls, SD. Candidates residing elsewhere in the U.S. who are within commuting distance of a BPM office will be expected to follow a hybrid work schedule.
