Job summary

Columbia State Community College is seeking Part-Time Faculty – Accounting to teach courses at the Columbia and Williamson Campus locations. Instructors are hired semester-by-semester and may teach up to nine credit hours, with salary paid per credit hour.

Minimum qualifications require a Master’s in Accounting or CPA with a BS in Accounting and at least 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting. A travel stipend may be negotiated for extensive travel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Accounting (or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting or CPA with BS in Accounting).

Responsibilities

  • Preparing for courses as assigned and adhering to departmental course syllabi and course minimum student learning outcomes.
  • Beginning and ending all classes as schedules.
  • Organizing, assigning, and supervising learning activities of students in his/her classes.
  • Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning.
  • Evaluating students using a variety of methods and for informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance/participation and grades.
  • Reading Columbia State email and responding to student questions via email in a timely manner.
  • Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, student enrollment
