Job Description Summary
As a part of the Procure-to-Pay Payment Services team, the Accountant position is responsible for handling payments related to suppliers, employee travel and non-travel reimbursements as well as various forms of specialized payment transactions. Handles issuance of company credit cards as well as auditing card transactions. Maintains supplier master records. Assists in monitoring department correspondence and prepares appropriate communication with internal and external customers. Ensures compliance with State and University policies while analyzing, reviewing, and auditing various payment transactions. Collaborates with other employees on all functions of the organization; position requires successful completion of Pre-Audit Authorization through the State of Nebraska Department of Accounting Services. Position can office on any of the University’s campuses in Kearney, Lincoln or Omaha.
Four years of work experience performing standard and specialized accounting transactions
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office applications- outlook, word, excel.
Must demonstrate attention to detail and proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with SAP applications; jaggier (eshop) and Concur
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
may be considered.

creative problem solver who can work independently along with the judgment to seek supervision and/or input from
others when necessary. Someone who can interpret policy and procedures and apply them to various unique situations.
