Job Description

Position: Accountant | VR training | 100% remote | $80k USD full-time / $40k USD part-time

The Company

The Role

The Daily Accountant will manage the financial health of the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual contributor role involves limited meetings and regular check-ins. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and experienced in GAAP accounting within a hardware manufacturing environment, with previous experience in deferred revenue, depreciation, and amortization.

The Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
• Manage financial transactions using Airbase, QuickBooks Online, and Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Handle payroll processing across platforms and onboard new employees, including payroll and benefits setup.
• Establish and maintain state tax accounts and registrations.
• Reconcile inventory reporting with accounting records.
• Create and post adjusting entries for deferred revenue, depreciation, amortization, payroll, prepaid expenses, and benefits.
• Process accounts payable payments and manage vendor relationships.

The Requirements

• Experience in a full-function business accounting role.
• CPA preferred but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with a Finance emphasis.
• Prior experience with deferred revenue, depreciation, amortization, payroll, prepaid expenses, and benefits.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, especially in hardware manufacturing.
• Experience with Manufacturing and Inventory.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables), and payroll platforms.
• Remote work experience with a distributed team, demonstrating self-motivation and reliability.
