Job Summary:
The Accountant provides accounting support for business units by analyzing financial statements to make recommendations for improvements in cost reduction and profitability. This position performs monthly balance sheet analysis, quarterly variance analysis, monthly bank reconciliations, and annual budget preparation. The Accountant also prepares monthly management reports and assists other departments on special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepares journal entries and account analyses related to various financial transactions.
2. Assists with external audit activities such as scheduling, documentation requests, and follow-up questions.
3. Reviews income statement fluctuations and related explanations and analyzes monthly variances of actual versus budgeted results.
4. Monitors key performance indicators (KPI’s) including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), inventory turnover, and accounts payable aging.
5. Provides ad hoc financial reporting as requested.
6. Participates in strategic planning sessions and operational improvement initiatives.
7. Other duties as assigned.

This position is in our Hartsville, SC Headquarters location, and may consider candidates also in the Charlotte Metro area.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting required.
2. CPA preferred.
3. 5-8 years accounting experience with a manufacturing company required.
4. Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
5. Experience working with ORACLE/Microsoft Office Suite applications.
6. Detail oriented individual who has demonstrated excellent problem solving skills and analytical ability.
7. Must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Able to work independently while maintaining cooperative relationships with internal customers.

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $72,560 to $81,630.
