Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an accounting professional to support the month-end close, analyze financial and operational data, and communicate results to site management. You will perform reconciliations, identify process improvements, and contribute to special accounting projects as needed.

The role requires a mix of policy application, data analysis, and accuracy, with opportunities to grow within a large mining operation. A non-standard schedule may apply in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with six years accounting/finance experience.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area plus four years experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area plus two years experience.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned duties as part of the accounting close process.
• Analyze financial and operational data and communicate results timely to management and site finance personnel.
• Perform analysis and reconciliation through system queries, research and investigation of reconciling items.
• Review processes for improvements as changes occur or new requirements are added to the month-end close process.
• Perform other accounting and special projects as assigned.
