Job summary

Expansion Capital Group is seeking an Accountant II to join our Finance team in Sioux Falls, SD. This is a full-time, in-office role with a Monday–Friday schedule and a strong emphasis on ownership of financial reporting and core accounting processes.

You will prepare and review financial statements, manage reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting, analyze results, and help strengthen internal controls while collaborating across the business to drive informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Corporate or general accounting experience with GAAP knowledge.
• Financial statement preparation and reporting proficiency.
• General ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Journal entries and month-end accounting activities.
• Budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis experience.
• Financial analysis and discrepancy resolution abilities.
• Internal controls or audit support experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, analyze discrepancies.
• Post and reconcile vendor payments to maintain accurate records.
• Maintain and reconcile Accounts Payable activity and vendor payments.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, analyze variances and advise.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide accounting analysis to support reporting and decision-making.
• Support internal controls and compliance with financial policies.
• Assist audits by preparing financial information and deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
