Job summary

Expansion Capital Group in Sioux Falls, SD or Sandy, UT is seeking an Accountant II to join our Finance team. The role emphasizes ownership of financial reporting, general ledger activities, budgeting support, and financial analysis.

You’ll collaborate with the team to maintain strong internal controls, analyze results, and drive process improvements. In-office for six months, then hybrid based on business needs and leadership approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Two or more years of accounting-related experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, perform detailed account analysis, and investigate discrepancies.
• Post and reconcile vendor payments and other financial activity to maintain accurate accounting records.
• Maintain and reconcile Accounts Payable activity, including verification, authorization, and vendor payments.
• Support budgeting and financial forecasting, analyze variances, and provide recommendations based on financial results.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for process improvement.
• Provide account analysis and financial information to support reporting and business decision-making.
• Support the development and maintenance of internal controls and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing financial information and completing related deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen the accuracy and reliability of financial information
