Job Summary

The Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Medicine & Public Health is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Accountant. This position will be part of a growing finance team in the Department of Radiology and will provide financial management and transaction processing. This position has a large portfolio and is the main resource for Department activities relating to reimbursements, payments, purchasing and tracking of all expenses. The position serves as the first point of contact for Department faculty staff for advice, direction, training, and problem resolution relating to financial transactions and processes.

Additional Information
  • The work schedule is between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • While most work will be performed remotely, some tasks may require in person work at a designated campus location.
  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles listed in this posting: Accountant I or Accountant II. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

  • Organizes, prepares, and updates financial statements, monthly and year-end journal entries, accounts, ledgers, and reports for various financial needs within an automated financial system to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is a minimum of $62,000/year: but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administrative processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and maintaining supporting documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience working in an academic or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Smartsheets, including complex formulas and pivot tables to create financial dashboards.
Education

Associate's Degree Preferred; focus in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a similar field.
